Kommunity Desk, a division of Kommunity Group Projects, has one simple objective: to dramatically reduce classroom desk shortages affecting over 90 million African school children by the year 2015.

Kommunity Desk dramatically improves the learning conditions of children who do not have access to a desk in their classrooms, and gives these children the opportunity to create a better life for themselves through improved academic performance.  

The Kommunity Desk is a very simple, patented product. Branded with our Sponsor’s brand or logo, and made from highly durable and child-safe materials, any child can hold the Kommunity Desk against their body as an effective writing surface to work on, whether they are sitting under a tree in a rural school, in a classroom without desks, or at home.

Kommunity Group Projects was founded as a logical extension of the work of and insights gained from our earlier work under our Lapdesk Company banner, a South African-based organisation specialising in multi-national education development and upliftment. We utilise a unique model of media and corporate intervention to address the problem of educational development of underprivileged children across Africa. We have spent the past 7 years operationally focused in perfecting tangible delivery of Kommunity Desks to African school children.
