What's New

Welcome to Kommunity Group Project's new homepage!

We've been through a number of exciting changes here over the last few months.  We have restructured our organisation and now operate under the banner Kommunity Group Projects, a more holistic social upliftment organization focusing on the development of youth in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Lapdesk Company will be continuing its work as The Kommunity Desk Company, within the organisations Kommunity Education division. I am also extremely pleased to announce that our desk relief work will be further accelerated with the introduction of the Tutudesk, the Desmond Tutu 2015 Campaign and the introduction of the Desmond Tutu 2015 Tutudesk Campaign Centres – an initial five-year fundraising and expansion drive for KGP to deliver twenty million Tutudesks and transform the educational environment for twenty million children in Africa. We are tremendously privileged to have Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu personally support and endorse this important education legacy programme carrying his name, and with the launch of our online fundraising programme in this regard (expected ready October 2011) you will be able to personally become involved in supporting this critically important Campaign. Please be sure to follow our progress in this regard in future newsletters.

Our new KGP branding and positioning will better serve both our constituents as well as our donors as we continue to broaden our portfolio to include a diverse, specialized and wholly owned range of proprietary low-tech, innovative products and service solutions aimed at social upliftment for African youth (both in and out of school). Structured in 5 divisions – Education, Human Capital, Sport, Lifestyle and Integrator – we aim to effectively address - at scale - key social issues and challenges facing youth in Sub-Saharan Africa today.

Please stay up to date with us by subscribing to our newsletter or joining us on our new Facebook group! As we grow and develop in our new structure we’ll also be engaging with you, our supporters, from time to time to seek your opinion and input on key issues affecting our strategy and intervention programmes in the future.

In conclusion, thank you for taking the time to visit with us, and look out for quality development feedback from myself and our team in the future.

With my best regards,

Shane Immelman
